What causes a surge?

In doing so, most of these items would be permanently damaged and no longer function.

- New Construction Neighborhoods: If you live in a new development that is still having homes built, there is a great chance you will experience a power surge at some point. The reason is all the additional work that is happening on your neighborhood’s electrical grid.

- If I have a power surge, won’t homeowner’s insurance cover the damages? The answer is yes, usually they will. However, it usually takes quite a bit of time to file a claim and get everything replaced. We have had clients be without heat or air conditioning for a few weeks as they wait for their insurance.
